dont you hate people that say lowering makes handling better, ARGH having an argument on msn some one give me some stats
ARGH
-
#1
-
#2errrrrrrr it stops you feeling like your driving a jelly
-
#3Because it does? But only to a certain degree. For example, if you lower a car 35/40mm it will handle 10 times better than 50/60+, thats what I've heard anyway.
-
#4I would stop this argument now, You won't win.
-
#5Depends what you mean by lowering i suppose
-
#6depends what you mean by handling...
handling, grip, ride are all different 'parameters' -
#8oooo i'm tempted
-
#9Handling and Grip are two totally different things.
-
#10when you take something lower to the ground it has a better center of gravity therefore its been pulled by gravity better hence better grip and handling, but it all depends on stiffness, play in the suspension, and other factors, but yeh it will improve handling to cetain extent, but obviously the more you spend the better and bigger improvement you will get.
-
#11AGAIN, handling has nothing to do with grip.
-
#12well do you loose grip, should you lower?
-
#13Dave do a write up on both and ill pin it
-
#15I'll try and do a right up this weekend.
Ad - the reason your not convinced my that is that its complete bollocks. When you have a RACING car that is very low to the ground then the speed of the air passing under the car is lower than the speed of the air going over the car. More air going over the car = more mass traveling over the car than under = downforce. Gravity has fuck all to do with it. The earth is a few thousand miles thick so an inch of extra hight won't make any difference (you'll notice that you don't get "more" gravity when you are on the ground floor compared to say floor 7 for example)
