Induction Kit

  1. #1
    Hi,

A Saxo VTR came into my work as a Part exchange and I've got a few bits from it. Mainly, an induction kit. My one wee problem is that I think I need a Breather? (whatever the hell that is). The filter was just clamped onto the engine and there were a few bits that weren't connected to anything on the engine and it looked quite a shoddy job on this car.

If I spend some money on buying all of the remaining correct parts, what possible damage can an induction kit do?

Is it true that it can make you fail an MOT? I've already got a Peco backbox and I don't want to ruin my emmissions etc.

I really want to fit it but would like to know of peoples' experiences first

    Help pls!!!

it wont make you fail an MOT, unless you fit it in some kind of dodgy way????

Without an oil breather linked to the induction it will fail wont it?
Your not allowed to vent it in2 the air?

Not to mention the junk your contaminating the oil with

air filters adjust the air fuel mixture accordingly but not by much! mystic that is correct the breather pipe has to be connected!and iam certain that a backbox does not adjust your emissions as all your changing is the baffles inside the box to adjust the noise! depends on age of engine and its condition!

No one has ever spotted mine, in fact my breather fell off and I just have a small hole in the top of the engine. Never been an MOT issue.

Scott and Mr Mystic are correct, it is a fail
