How do you tighten this up?

   The gold thing in this picture which retains the damper in the strut keeps coming loose. Apparantly you need a special tool but is there any other way? If not where can I buy this tool? Also do I have to dismantle the strut to tighten it up again as I have lent my spring compressors to a friend.

   not sure if you can buy the tool but if you take it to citroen they will do it up for you. i'm pretty sure you will need to remove the spring so they can do it. its probly quite dangerous to have the spring on while it is loose as it could come undone and the spring could go for a flying lesson or get stuck in someones head. either way quite dangerous.

   mole grips if your being cheap about it or take it to citron and go round the back where the workshop is and get a mechanic to tighten it for you, and give him a 10er

   either a 'C' spanner or a bar/pole + hammer

   Stilsons.... or use a bar/screwdriver and knock the holes around, to turn it
   
   Or... buy the Citroen tool, as advised above. I think its a 3-pinned tool. Daft design too
