Engine help please - rather urgent.

  1. #1
Ok whilst trying to put my cam covers back on after cleaning them up a bit, i've dropped one of the wee hose clips into the engine....i can totally see the funny side of this at the moment as i don't particularly need the car in a hurry but i'd like to know what my best course of action is.

it wont have gone into the engine mate it will be in there sumwher ehave a ferret about for it with a magnet or 1 of the grapple things, you'll find it so dont worry too much

The trouble is that i can hardly see anything in there, i think my Grandad has some grapple things.

its not gonna drop into the block or nething so don't worry mate, just get a wee pen torch in there or just a massive light above, and mess about with long nose pliers till u can get it
  6. #6
Have you got a torch lying about or perhaps turn the flash light on if youve got a cemera phone. Good luck finding it hopefully it wont have gone far

I managed to get it out with the grapplers, i think it went in the most awkard place possible. Needed to twist it on the way out.

Whilst that pic is up, can anyone tell me if those are standard camshafts or not?

I didn't have the time to finish them properly as it was getting dark, they look a lot better but not as good as yours yet. No pics sorry due to the darkness.
  13. #13
i sue pointy nose pliers when that happens.
  14. #14
They tried those but they weren't long and pointy enough.
