what sort of power can you out of the 8v lump? i see sum guy has 115bhp thats alot from just 98bhp.
is 120 bhp possible or would i just be wasting my money.i know i can just go n get vts with 120 standard but wana modd the engine of the vtr to the max

I've seen some crazy figures batted about about but a lad at the rolling road I went to the other other week hit 170bhp with a vtr turbo and was good for more if it wasn't for the boost leak.

I know you dont want to hear this but the vts is a better option as it has more potential and what you spend getting the vtr up to vts levels could have gone a lot further with the vts.

    Get spending....

    its enitrelly upto you

but personally i wouldnt go any further then breathing mods on a vtr as you can get a vts conversion and get more bhp per £

Even breathing mods would be a waste wouldnt it, I mean apart from the de-cat and zorst... as you would need to change the manifold again once you got the vts engine? Im not sure if its the same with the induction kit, im sure you can mod that to suit.

exhaust and induction kit would fit vts

mainfold wouldnt but you could sell it and buy one for a vts

Down to insurance though. He might not be declaring stuff to insurance. So it will be alot cheaper to insure the vtr. You can hit way over 120bhp in a vtr mate. But will always be the thing of whatever you do to a vtr if sames been done to a vts they will be still quite abit ahead of you.

He might not tell the insurance about the vts engine that going in that would also prove cheaper.

I know someone who had 161bhp out of his 8 valve.

    But he did spend ALOT!

Of the top of my head, he had Motec engine management, Thottle Bodies, a Rally head with HUGE valves, 300 Degree Camshaft. Flat top pistons, forged lightened con-rods and it was bored out to 1599cc.
