A really fast daily drive?

  1. #1
What would make for a better daily drive, when I say daily drive I mean something to cover my 15mile round trip to work and thats about it as I do nothing else but sit on here

    Supercharged or turbod saxo?

From previous research sessions I've came to the conclusion that a supercharger is a less harmful method of upping the power.

The car obviously would not be setup for 300bhp or anything crazy just a nice 180-200bhp kick

Apologies for yet another indecisve Ets2k9 thread but all this talk of boosted saxo's lately has set my mind racing and I'm due a fat bonus early next year so I'm putting it to a good cause.

Heres a few more random questions for anyone who wants to answer them:

Would it be wise to fit cat cams etc or just run the S/C or Turbo on its own?

Are uprated internals a must for either application?

I'll search for the rest of the answers as no doubt they've been covered.

    Off you go people

    Cheers

    Steve,

I would definately say supercharger. Aim for what you said about 190-200bhp at as low boost as possible.

Heavily camming a turbo car would be not be effiecient for a daily driver, as then ALL the power with then be too far up the rev range.

285 degree cams with a supercharger would be good I think.

As for internals, you can run them pretty much standard with a S/C, but inevitably, forged and lightened rods, maybe low comp pistons etc should be used for higher boost.

    Hope this helps.

    Is simo's and like cammed?

Sorry I cant actually help but praise the lord that people like you steve ask these sorts of questions - good technical info

i thought as much but I was told that as I could get away with it using standalones.

I can only presume this is with base maps.

I'll add you to msn tomorrow
