#2Jack the wheel up with a trolley jack or put on axel stands, Just so it donesn't fall, cos ur gonna have to take the release the handbrake. Right when in air, wooble wheel around, up and down and back and forth. With and without the handbrake on. Is there any play?
When u say its 20 degrees in2 the car. What do u mean, the front of the wheel or the top?
If its the top, could be trailing arm bearings. But u should feel this play with the handbrake off.
Give it a go, tell me what u find. -

#6The problem is, bumps "Really Give It Some".
Suspension has to take the weight of the car and a heavy pounding over rough roads! There shouldn't be any play in the trailing arm, if there is, it's likely that the bearing or the shaft is fudged. But if u've got a noticable camber (top in bottom out) on the back wheel and only a small amount of play, it doesn't sound good. The camber is unlikely to change much, unless the bearing is well and truely gone. So, if like u say, the play is minimal, it could be that something is bent.
It could be the stub, that the trailing arm sits on, or the stub that the rear wheel bearing/hub sit on. Can't really tell without dismantling it. And thats a mission and a half. A second hand rear arm with hub stub on wouldn't be too much secondhand. But if its the beam stub, things ain't so good.
I'd get a Citroen Specialist to check it out. -
#7hi there, which model have you got , i have just rebiuld a vts axle complete, it sounds like the axle bearings have shot it .outer bearing failure allowes the arm to lift and the top of the wheel to lean in . about £35 for bearings/seals if it as damage to the shaft i can help i have some shafts which i press in but you have to take the axle off the car this repair is not done by citroen the shafts are £90 each hope this helps ,bearing are not to bad to do when you get the torsion bars out and arb out arm come off the beam ok
