V-Tec is for homos who can't take a bit of a lumpy idle
  11. #11
agreed with campdavid -im loving the lumpy idle haha
  12. #12
Standard vts should be 7250. Mine soft cuts at 7850 as el campo's.

Never need to take it there though unlesss you aer doing a 0-60 run.

Changing at about 7k keeps it nicely in the power band
  13. #13
standard vtr is just over 6k isnt it

    Edited! Should have said vts!

Superchips can supply a chip which will raise the rev limit to a predetermined level. That way you can do 60 in 2nd gear!

look at jonhno always on the look for new ideas lol

    superchips suck balls. Fact.
best way to increase the limiter is by remapping the standard ecu, although people seem to be forgetting that an increased rev limit is only required when the cam fitted makes peak power beyond the standard rev limit ie catcam 708's etc

Very true, also worth noting that as revs go up forces do exponentially. I only unleash the full 8k when absolutely vital, like when I'm racing Corsas in the town centre

i did'nt notice limiter (prob not enough rev's) but did do 60 in 2nd gear!

my little baby does 75 in second that sound beter to me
  28. #28
a vts will hit 60 in second, no other saxo as standard can. FACT.
  29. #29
Lol the old 60 in second again
  30. #30
scott is that a saved sentence, i swear ive seen that before, lol
  31. #31
70 in second with a vtr box fact
  32. #32
A VTS engine will probably do 70mph in second with a VTR box. I wouldn't know though, as a VTR box on a VTS is a pap idea unless you need to do over 150mph. Please remember that both your speedo and rev counter over read, your rev limiter doesn't, ergo 7800 out of a standard VTS won't happen, but it will show on the rev counter
  33. #33
my vtr could do 60 in 2nd,thats wot my clocks read.i know most of the time the clocks are out but still,it looked good at the time
plus i got a vts now with my vtr gear box and its quick ,very impressed,no speeddo at the moment tho
  34. #34
vts on 195/45 tyres on limit in second is 69.3MPH

thats what i used to think when i still had the vtr box in after the engine conversion but it wasnt that quick you could get silly speed in 5th though i find mine better with the vts box in
  36. #36
im happy with the vtr box atm,i want to get my speedo sorted tho,ill let u kno
  37. #37
when you say silly speed how much was that(not on public roads ofcourse

Was just giving one quick and easy example.

I would always remap or use stand alone but they are quite often out of the price range and actual needs of a lot of people

standard is 7250, mine is 7850.

superchips cant raise RPM limit on 3 plug ecu vts'
