Decatting

I currently have a catback custom powerflow system it's hardly noticable sound wise gives a nice suble sound but my induction kit makes up for it anyhow.

I was just wondering what would I notice if I got a decat, more power gains? greater popping? louder?

u will get bit more power as the cat restricts flow

no but its illegal and will fail MOT!

so basically ill jsut have 2 refit the cat everytime it goes for the MOT or is it more complicated thn tht?

yes thats about it.... you will notice a bit more noise and a tiny bit of power but nothing astronomical.... I don't have a cat but its legal for me lol

If your thinkin of decatin then, get yourself a tublar manifold either 4-2-1 or 4-1. This way your see more of a power increase smother power band and anlong with decatin your be popin and fartin like a old man :-)

ive got a 4-2-1 coming so it might decat it and see what its like

I was going to get a 4-1 manifold but i know this guy who races saxo's and he said that the manifolds will do hardly anything, just fail the MOT!

Why would they make it fail the mot?.... I've not known any problems with manifolds, unless there isn't a lambda hole... de-cats yes, auto fail

Sorry, if it is a MK2 where the cat is in the manifold it will fail! I had a MK2 VTR in the other week with a 4-1 manifold and that failed!

yes that would make sense lol... good call
