After Supercharging

Hiya all
I`m currently considering getting a super charger for my VTR but was told i`d need to change things on my car afterwards like clutch, pistons, brakes etc is this true?
Any advice would be helpful as i`m a novice at moddifyin as it is!

U wont HAVE 2 change those things, but if u dont, then u wont get the most out of the engine and supercharger, and also, the more delicate parts of the engine may not survive for long...
I would have also expected that people would really want 2 have a big-brake conversion, but u will need 2 upgrade some part of ur brakes because with the extra power and the extra weight from the supercharger and its components will mean that u will need better brakes 2 stop...
If u have the money go for it, but get some more opinions from more people,find some people that have had it done and ask them exactly wot they did, wot problems they may have had, etc...

Im not sure about the pistons as i would have thought they would be part of the supercharger conversion. It sort of depends on wheter you are fitting it yourself or getting professionals to do it.

If it is done by a professional then anything needed to be upgraded will be. The clutch isn't necessary as there is only a 45-50 bhp increase. You might get a better gear change but is by no means necessary.

Brakes are not needed either but are useful for braking faster. Depends whether you will be reaching the new top speed.

neway, thats kinda wot i meant, somethings u dont need 2 do, but others may b essential 2 preserve the engine, oh and the clutch is somethin that u may just wanna uprate neway as 2 take nemore xtra power added on after the supercharging...

a basic supercharger with intercooler is supposed to give 145 at the WHEELS, which is a good bit more than 50 bhp increase.

You dont need pistons but your boost will be limited to stop blowing them up

again you dont need to uprate the clutch but be aware it is going to die a lot quicker than previously

brakes dont need to be upgraded but i would consider uprating brakes before the conversion as the saxo brakes are pretty poor as standard and with this extra power and hence you probably going faster in shorter spaces of time you brakes wont cope very well

Ill keep on considering my options and savin the cash! maybe ill look for gaining extra bhp in other ways, we`ll see,
