    so ive just bought a vts engine with a chippeed ecu before im putting it in the car and doing the conversion i want to recondition the engine replace all the valves, seals, ect.. also while its out i want to cam it run high comp pistons, along with tb's i wanted opinions on what would be the best setup for all this and what cams, tbs to get ??

    Theres no point in getting new valves unless the ones in it are fucked... just re-lap the originals as they will operate better having been run-in so to speak... obviously thats upto you... as for TB's... whats your budget?... you have to know that first... I'd say for those go for the biggest inlet possible... Jenvy's something like that running with an Omex standalone, PBV, GTi-6 injectors, Cams, uprated fuel pump, Head porting, 4-2-1 and 3" system... as for cams theres mixed feelings as to whats the best... depends on what your needs are... if its a daily runner I'd recommend going for fast road rather than something wild. Obviously your looking at a fair bit to set this up on an RR... so bear that in mind as each time you add something then it will have to be mapped. All the above will set you back a couple of g's so the cheaper option is bike bodies which will see a nice increase in torque and bhp when mapped and only about £1000 all in

    well budget is about two grand give or take im looking to build this engine over the next 6months or so as far as the bodies im looking at getting a set from qep. any body running these ?? cams i agree im going with road cams as it will be driven about what do you think about high comp pistons good idea thinking they would work well with the bodies?? and seeing as im doing this while the engine is out of the car im planning to put it in then get it remapped all at once on the rr..

    gmc have a new set of bodies that are worth a look. pistons are gonna help but if youve got 2 grand to spend your not gonna be in the budget, neither are mapping costs.
    pm godgti hes building a similar engine, he was using some qep custom cams that were slightly wilder than fast road cams but not enough to go solids
