   I have a vts mk1 with a vtr box and my mate has a VTS with vts box,anyway we was racing the otherday(not on public roads).
   We was both doing 140mph(thats what the clocks red) my revs were 5,500 and his was 7.500,is this right?

   no, his should be more 7.2k - 7.3k.
   yours will be about 500 - 1000 lower than that.
