  7. #7
Well, they mount with two 17mm bolts (if my memorey serves me right..) and appear to be identicle to a saxo, id be 85% sure, but nothing conclusive Im afraid!

come on some 1 must know 42 peoplehave look at the tread and no 1 knows!!

    please people

instinctively i would say no due to difference in size of calipers, distance from hub etc...

But thats only instinct i cant say for sure because i have never tried them

cheers scott i understand what you saying

i think a lot of you are getting confused over what teh carriers are. they are the main part of the calipers. if you dont get the carriers with your brakes then you only get half a brake. and no way would vts carriers fit gti brakes. but the gti brakes will fit a vts hub. post a pic of the brakes in question if you are unsure.

    I agree...

Are the 206GTi brake pads bigger than standard saxo pads? Im guessing they are?

If the pads are bigger, that means the caliper is too.

If the caliper is bigger, then it wont fit the carrier properly.

I have no direct knowledge of 206 calipers on a saxo, but I would have thought you'd need the full setup... ie caliper and carrier. This would then bolt onto the saxo hub, via the standard fixing arrangement.

Dodgy picture showing carrier and caliper of vts setup.

Yes, thats correct... but the pads fit exactly into the carrier... ie, they are tight upto the edges. How are you going to fit a larger pad in there?

If the pads arent larger, then what is the benefit? piston size could be marginally bigger, but if pad area (friction area) isnt bigger, then no benefit.

Im pretty sure the 206 setup is larger than saxo.. hence shouldnt fit the saxo carriers. IMO.

simo i hate to be the bearer of bad news but you bolted your caliper on up side down... must of been haveing a long day ....

reading your post makes sence now lol the pads would be bigger making the carriers too small ha ha ha what a doughnut cheers people

What Soulless is selling is the Caliper, carriers and pads with 4 mounting bolots. I should know as I have seen them!

The whole reason of putting the 206gti (Off a gran tourismo 206-the Ltd edition) brake setup on (Altho no discs are included) is to uprate your front brakes for a bigger setup with better stopping power...

they will fit straight on mate, all you need to do is fit a few washers behind each bolt that holds the calipers on (2 on each side) or get some full thread bolts the same pitch and length as the standard vtr/vts ones. this is because the standard vtr/vts ones have a shoulder on them at the to of the stud.

I have 206 gti 180 discs and calipers on my 1998 vtr and they went straight on without any need of grinding at all, like i said the only problem i had was that the standard studs bottomd out and left the caliper a tad slack, i fitted 2 washers on each stud and they were fine. they withstood all the hammering i gave them on the track days i did.
i took the easy option with the washers lol to eager to get the setup on the car.

the standard 206 gti discs and calipers will fit onto the car and behind your standard 14" vtr alloy, the 206 gti 180 and 306 gti-6 setups need 15" or bigger alloys.

hope that helps mate, any probs just PM me

you will need the whole setup from the 206 gti mate. i wouldnt try and mix n match.

i can get 306 gti-6 setups for a good price if you are interested? probs better off getting a full setup for the price it will cost you to buy bits and bobs.
bigger discs, calipers and pads works wonders on a light saxo

As stated the 206 GT model brake setup will fit, Soulless has everything needed apart from discs (carriers, calipers, bolts and pads are included) and you can get a decent pair of them for a good price too, from most places.
