I changed my vtr to the mk1 filter but never took any pics, what is it you want to know?

As much of a step by step guide as poss. Got a diagram of how it fits into the engine and screws via that thread. Where is the hole meant to be that has be blocked with a bolt?

First of all i would remove the manifold, i would imagine your gonna do this any way since you will be replacing it?

It's pretty straight forward, just remove the existing oil filter and housing from the block (4 bolts i think), providing the engine is cold you should only get a small amount of oil leaking out.

You should now see 2 holes, the one that the sleeve and filter screw inot and the smaller one that you need to block.

Give the area a clean up and screw in your new sleeve (might be an idea to use locktight) folowed by your new filter.

I think the smaller hole is left from the oil pressure sensor, you will need to tap a thread in it if you want to block it with a bolt.

Then put your new manifold on, if it's only got a hole for 1 lambda sensor, you will need to get a metal sleeve for the other one. It gets really hot and not something you want flapping about your engine bay.

I needed to take my alternator out to get enough room but you might not need to.

I think that's about it, give me a shout inf you need any more info.

Right, just been to MPB to get all this fitted. They had a good look at the engine bay and the diagrams citroen provided me. Doesn't seem to go they said as the diagram shows a circle in the centre of the engine block which the filter screws into. But on my mk2, the oil filter is located to the right of the engine. Does this mean that I remove the olf filter and housing from here and screw the new mk1 filter into that, blocking the 2nd hole?
Please see pics off mine and the diagram below:

This is where my current oil filter is. but look at the diagram below:

    What the hell??? HELP!!!!

    Any1 help?

By the way, the guys at MPB said they could modify the manifold by taking a section out of one of the branches and welding a bend in the manifold so it doesnt melt the oil filter if I decide to keep the current one on. This doesnt sood good does it?

You can't expect to see much with the downpipe still on, you need to get rid of that and take the whole oil filter housing off the block....the bit where the filter goes in...that all comes off via 4 bolts.

    Andy mate

Im doing this conversion at the weekend

I went to pug and ordered the threaded sleeve bit, also ordered an exhaust manifold gasket and a full set of nuts and studs in case any of mine are rusty etc....

The little hole you have to block up from the oil pressure sensor

How did you block yours up? And do you end up with any silly warning lights if you dont have the oil pressure sensor plugged in??

    I second that question...
  12. #12
why dont you just block the hole for the oil pressure sensor thats left when you remove the mk2 filter and housing with an oil pressure sensor? and just dont connect it
  13. #13
Thats what I thought but I've been told the hole isn't threaded
  14. #14
Bu not connecting it to anything, will it leave a light on the dash/ cause any problems with the oil?
  15. #15
Nope, i blocked mine up with a tapered bit of brass, havent had any problems. The hole is not threaded.

Bit of a longshot: Anyone got a pic of this finished product, ie. new oil filter once finished?
