#2it depends on which year saxo you have. 2000 and after have the cat in the manifold, so when you buy and after market one it removes the cat so it will fail the MOT.
However if you car is 1999 and before the cat it underneath the car not in the manifold so changing the manifold wont remove the car so the car will still pass the MOT. -
#3no. why would you think that?
edit. unless the cats in the fannymould, lo -
#4as above, and cherrybombs are rubbish
-
#5my saxo is year 2000 can i buy a 4Branch that will pass its MOT and what other mods can i do to make the performance better cheers
-
#7cheers what stuff could i put on to my car 2 make it quicker then
-
#8my car is a 2000 and the cat is under the car. So when i changed my manifold it still passed the MOT.
Check under your car for it. 2000 is the year they changed it, some cars have it some dont. -
#9correct ^^^^ is your car a W reg Fredjudd?
-
#10its only once a year even if you have got to change it
-
#11Indeed my car is a W reg. You need to have a look at your car easiest way is to look for a huge bit of piping in the manifold.
-
#12yeah i have a W reg mk2 aswell and my cat isn't in the manifold! but as above if your cat is in the mani, and you but a performance mani, then obviously your de-catting, which will fail MOT.
-
#13Now I'm worried, I just had a new manifold fitted and the garage said jack-shit about decat!
Will have to check the car when my Missus comes home. Mines a 2000 V reg.
It says in Haines that the Cat is between the front pipe and middle on all petrol engines. So that's bolloxs then. -
#14the problem with your year and early mk2's is they used a lot one 90bhp engines in the mk2 bodyies..... if your dip stick is to the right of the engine when your looking at if from the front its a 90bhp engine with a cat under the car.... if not then you have a 98bhp engine with the cat in the manifold,,,,
-
#15this is a 90bhp engine with the cat under the car, if you dip stick is in another loction your cat is in your manifold mate.lol
-
#16I've a got a V-reg VTS and the cat is under the car.
-
#17V reg is under the car, they didn't start putting the 98bhp engine in until the X reg cars were made, so you will be ok with your new manifold matey, unless the car has had a 98bhp conversion, then your fine so now you can stop stressin lol!
