no diffrence between silver top and black top performance wise
  3. #3
your selling a newer 98bhp vtr for a older 90bhp vtr why?
  4. #4
    because mk1 saxo ROCK paul,,,,

122bhp out of a silver top 90bhp engine mate...pm me for engine spec and details...
  5. #5
the silver top and black top are the same bhp and torque mate to my understanding... the main difference is the black top has ht leads and not a coil pack, plus it doesnt have roller follwers....

Silver top is much more better design in my opinion...
  6. #6
MK2 VTR is stated everywhere as 98bhp
  7. #7

Isnt it better to remove the rollers when fitting high lift cams to these silver top engines though mate so dont quite see how it can be better design, just read this somewhere so dont quote as i could be wrong.

i think you need to make your mind up first matey, and have a good long think about it. i.e. how much your insurance will go up and how much more running costs will be, thats not to mention your looking at about £700ish to get it fitted and setup!

    hope this helps

well what so your telling me that all you lot tell insurance of engine mods, the thing is if you have an accident they dont look inside the engine, evaluators come and check damage, and if there are any extras fitted, ie exhausts etc, whats the point of telling insurance that you have put a cam in it, theyll never eva check. unless your realli unlucky. happened to my mate he cammed his car had big wheels and stereo and the insurance didnt wink an eye, he go couple of hundred quid less than he thought he would of got. y pay more money than you need to, dont get me wrong id never drive a car we out insurance, but they rip you off from the start. so y let them rip you off more. fair enough if want to make sure the insurance cover things like your stereo so you no your covered for it. then fine, the chances of them ripping your engine to pieces is highly unlikly. diffferent story if we wer talking big power gains like turbos and highly tuned big engines, but its a 1.6 and i never eva drive like a cunt anyway!!

if they come and check your car and find you have modded the car the insurance is void

keep dreaming if you think an insurance valuator won't check over a car properly, they're not called Loss Adjusters for nothing. and it isn't about driving like a cunt, let's see how clever you are saving a few quid when the insurance don't pay out and you're left to foot the bill out of your own pocket. it's wankers like you who make everyone elses insurance premiums a lot higher than they should be.

the bloke from quinn direct came to my house and picked my cammed fiesta up and taken it to a place in derby and had it looked atafter i got smashed from behind, seen it had cam in and didnt get penny back!!! then had to pay myself to get car towed home lol

oh yeh i know that, but i havent declared my wheels as there not worth much more than standard vtr wheels. and exhaust ive told them about it but they didnt declare it as a mod, and my stereo i take out with me every night, and to be ohnest id never claim of my insurance if my stereo got nicked, not worth making the premiums go up. and as for lowering it to be ohnest if crash your car there not gonna really notice it to much cause the car will most likely to be crumpled anyway! i get what your saying, not trying to cause an argument but! just my view on insurance, thing is all my mates have been driving longer than me, and they have crashed with modded cars and never told the insurance, never stopped them from getting payd out. fer enuf if you dont tax or mot its then void. cant seem to get out what im saying. but anyway, cheers for the help guys

i agree with the whole telling the insurance everything.

my old fiat, was insured as modified with tints, exhuast and induction kit. When it set fire to itself and the man from the insuracne came out he didnt know anything about it being declared as modified or did he car. But I think he was just lazy etc. always tell them! they will do anything not to pay out.
