fitting spoiler

I got the devil horn spoiler off ebay couple week back. I off to get it painted tomorow hopefully, but does anybody know properly how you fit them? Theres no holes in it, so its never been fitted before. Do you bolt them on or just screw them on or what? Help would be appreciated, thanx

To fit properly and make your car look great place in the nearest bin :Y:

i expected a comment like that lol. i thought of bonding it, but it would be a lot easier for somebody to just rag it off. I dont live in a rough area, but you always get the odd little squirt about

if its done properly with the correct stuff then you wont be able to rag it off, ask cloud lol

No problem as for the spoiler.. it needs bonding by a bodyshop around the joints of it so it dosent fall off when your going at high speeds... You will probally have to get the top of your boot resprayed.. (if not the whole thing)...

well if you do eventually wanna take it off. How do you get it off without taking your paint off? And whats the best stuff to buy if bonding it, is the answer

You can't get it off full stop without damaging the paint and the boot... As for the best stuff to use.. I wouldent know, it's a bodyshop job in my honest opinion.

The guy i asked at a paint shop, said i try to avoid fitting them as i don't like drilling into bodywork. Another guy i know, i was supposed to take the parts round today for him to spray them, but he had to go to nottingham, so im gonna have to wait till tomorow or tuesday now. So i havent had the chance to ask him about fitting them or costs.

Drill it.. but then when you take it of your going to have holes.. so there going to need smoothing over and spraying... You wont get away with not re-spraying the boot or buying a new boot (like i did).

Ye thats true. I suppose all i can do is wait and see if this other guy can fit it for me. I'm hoping he can because then i don't know any other places

To tigerseal it on at bodyshop or just to buy some tigerseal yourself?
  17. #17
well both i guess. I just looked on ebay and it says £8 for tiger seal.
  18. #18

My mate or my dad wouls definately have to help me out, no way i can do it alone. Or if i buy the stuff, and give it to the guy who sprays them?

He'll most likely have some mate if he owns a bodyshop?
  21. #21
Yeah probably so. I think he has his own garage, but he just lives over road from our local pub. So i'll take it to his house, via the pub

Before you bond them-on, postion them on the boot and take alook around the car from all angles just so your happy with the fit and overall look of the spoilers, last thing you want is to bond them on and then change your mind.

Please don't take the above as someone whos tryin to talk you out of fittin them, im all for people thinkin outside the box, just make sure they both sit level or they will look funny.
