15" On My Saxo

  1. #1
Ok people, I will definetly be buying these alloys for my saxo in the near future:

    Linkage

Now different people are saying different things to me and I'm getting a little confused.

Will these alloys rub on the front when the steering is on full lock and will they rub on the back when I have passengers?

If they rub on the front, back or both, what will need to be done to the arches?

    Thanks

    how low are you

i see you have a 1.1 has your car got 3 stud wheels or 4 as the link has 4 studs

Sorry yeah, forgot to mention about what car I got.

Normal 1.1 Saxo with 4 studs, the car isn't lowered at all.

Horrible rims that wont suit a saxo but 15's is deffinatly the way forward.

With 45 profile tyres you'll be fine!

not lowered you should be fine as them wheels come with 45 profile tyres

you may get some rubbing when you have rear passengers depends how many and heavy they are

At the most I would only have 1 rear passenger and they would be a normal 10 - 11 stone man.

So that should be fine :

I'm down 60mm (although the car seems to have dropped to more like 70mm) on 15in alloys and I only get rubbing on full lock at the front. I'm not down as low at the back and don't carry more than one passenger in the back usually just in case it does rub. I've occasionally taken 2 in the back (one being quite a sizeable girl) and it didn't rub but in general I don't like to carry passengers in the back.

It's a good excuse never to have to be the driver when we all go out anywhere

It will rub on the back when you go over bumps and speed humps on the little lip on the rear archs

Each to their own exactly, I have seen a lot of mods that people have done on here I personally don't like them.

I like them alloys, hopefully gettin them in the next week or two. But I will definately put pics up when I'm done.

very true, had 15s on my old 1.1 and hadnt much probs only when passengers in the back, and sometimes on full lock it rubbed the wheel arch plastic lining
