Well i know the standard mark 1 and mark 2 manifolds are different... so im guessing the aftermarket ones will be different as well (just a guess ).. I'll probally be wrong as i am with most things but i like to know the details lol
  8. #8
yeah thats fair enough, i understand why? i would too!

how are the mk1 and mk2 standard ones different though?
  9. #9
Well on the mark 2 i think the manifold sticks out more than the mark 1.. (I was ear wigging cammedvtr's and hesslevtr's converstation last night ) but then i think they were just talking about standard manifolds.. I'd rather be safe than sorry ... im stoopid as hell when it comes to engines so when you find out let me know lol.
  10. #10
mark 2 manifolds need 2 holes for sensors.
also mark 2 manifolds need to be designed differently as the filter is in the way..
  11. #11
ive got one of these raceland manifolds.

you will require an additional sleeve. (for lambada sensor i think) about £15.

mark 1 spin on oil filter. about £4.
    mark 1 sleeve/spindle. about £??

But arn't the sensors removed when you fit an aftermarket manifold?.. i know that hesslevtr always goes on about his dangling lamba (sp.. i have no idea how to spell that, i dont even know if i got the name right lol) sensor in manfiold conversations...
  13. #13
i'll let you all know about the mk1/mk2 thing as soon as he lets me know!
  14. #14
    Also it might be a good idea to point out that for a VTR the following happens;

    If its a Mk1, it doesn't decat.
If its a Mk2, it does decat.

no always, mines a mk2 but the cat is underneath not in the manifold! but i see what your saying, if the car is an X reg or after, ten buying one of these manifolds will in theory decat your car!
  16. #16
Yeah you know what I mean, I generally say call it mks, but typically Citroen had to do that.
Thought about doing a group buy on heatwrap aswell? Maybe your source could add some for a small fee? (Just an idea - i'm bored)
  17. #17
no harm in asking i suppose lol
  18. #18
Just makes the deal that bit sweeter though

the sensors arent removed totally, they are unplugged from the old manifold and fitted into slots in the new one.

a dangling sensor could cause the engine check light to come on and error codes on the ecu.

its better to just pay £10-£15 and get a sleeve/plug to fit in into and it will be safer aswell.

Doesn't this mean it fails its MOT? or do you have to fit a cat under the car lyk the pre X reg's? Can you decat both Mk1 & Mk2? just a bit confused at the moment lol. Cheers
  21. #21
    S34mer you would need a mk1 manifold.

If they are availble for mk2 count me in, Been thinking about this recently and want one now.

Keep me updated with details got the money now so sooner the better tbh
  22. #22
    id be interested!
  23. #23
interested in one of these but what else do you need? will it fit my 51plate furio?
  24. #24
Mk1 manifolds don't fit on to mk 2's as the oil filter gets in the way. Sits perfect until the 4th branch at the right hand side sits further back as the oil filter sits just to high and gets in the way so does not go on. Certainly this is the case with the pro-tech ones!Just get a mk1 filter though and problem solved. Also the thing with the lambda sensors but thts an easy fix.
  25. #25
ill have 1 mate if they fit onthe mk2 without having to move the oil filter, if you find that out and then let me know then ill be in.

as for the lamda thing on mk2, the 2nd 1 thats after the cat is sposed to detect clean emissions so if you put it in the manifold it wont, as you eliminate the cat abd the engine management light will cum on, you need to put the 1 out the top of the standard manifold into the hole provided, then the other that is after the cat on the mk2 need to go in a sleeve to fool it into thinking its clean air
  26. #26
GMC used to do an oil relocator kit but you don't really need one of those..

from a mk 1 engine get the mk1 filter thread / filter. just need to blank the oil pressure switch hole or fit the pressure sensor and you are away.

I've also been told that a filter from a Renault 5 Gt turbo fits also
  27. #27
any questions pm KamRacing ^^^^^^ as he is the man with the mani's!!

And many thanks for the info S34mer, rep biscuit for you my friend!!
  33. #33
4-2-1 is what i would recommend mate!!

  54. #54
for the raceland manifolds there is only one part available whether it is a Mk1 or a Mk2 saxo. All you need to do is pick the 16v or 8v model.

Some people will need to relocate the filter in which case you need the thread and filter off a Mk1 engine.
  55. #55
so how much is 1 gonna cost me delivered to my door then?

Not at all - a guy on FSC has organised a van to belgium and is bringing them all back - hence whey there is 30 available

They are all absolutely brand spanking new
  57. #57
can you pay for these by paypal?
  58. #58
^^^^^^ like tp know that too as ive got cash sat in there
  59. #59
if theres paypal i'll snap 1 up:Y: otherwise i cant be ronnied lol
  60. #60
4-1 are said to be best for vtr's as they add torque high up in the rev range as this is where a vtr runs out of puff, and a 4-2-1 is best for a vts as a vts has good power high up the rev range so the 4-2-1 add to the torque at low revs
  61. #61
if it will fit my mk1 vtr can i let u know the weekend if ill ave one?
  62. #62
Sorry to muck you bout but take my name off the list for now - not certain 4-2-1 is what im after, might get a 4-1...

  65. #65
could anybody clear all this up because everything seems a bit confusing and not too sure on whats going on. i have a 2001 vtr so will one of these fit?? and will anyting else be required to fit it??
  66. #66
yes it will fit, i believe you will need to re-locate your filter, this will also decat your car so it will fail MOT, you will need a sleeve for a cat, for MOT time!
  67. #67
so where do i pay for one on paypal?
  68. #68
ORDER HERE just follow the instructions, and fill out the order form!?
  69. #69
is there an ebay shop, it would be easier?
  70. #70
no don't think so! but it only takes two mins to fill out your name and address, then click pay by paypal and job done! don't be lazy lol
  71. #71
    man,you know im lazy:Y:
  72. #72
gonna order one,how long do they take to arrive?
  73. #73
next day delivery, read the thread sunny jim!
  74. #74
^too lazy + it wont be next day now
  75. #75
it will be next day when he gets the order tomoz!
  76. #76
before everyone goes and orders on the site if people can make a definative list on here with your full name and username. This will firstly mean I can cross reference to make sure it is just Saxperience users placing the orders and also means I can make sure I have enough stock in to meet demand

  79. #79

was it a raceland? There is a hole for the lamda sensor. The original wire just needs rerouting to reach it. Most people don't even have to extend the wire.
  82. #82
can you get these for the 3 plug vtr? my mate is wanting 1 at cheapest price possible.
  83. #83
    It will fit the VTR..
  84. #84
nah it wasnt a raceland, have made an order with you tho, any idea on delivery times?
  85. #85
    got your order thanks.

Price was based on 4+ orders .. but you're the only one so far.

Should get another delivery of raceland mani's this week so I'll ship them straight out (You should get it end of week). Sold the last of my stock Thursday
  86. #86
Cool. I am in desperate need of a new manifold, got a hole in the downpipe of my current one and its drinking petrol like no 2mrw
  87. #87
kam - my mate is wanting 1 for a mk2 vtr. how much would it be delivered?
  88. #88
The £130 cost includes TNT delivery
  89. #89
ok. i'll let him know and get back in touch.
  90. #90
will he need an oil filter relocation kit?
  91. #91
if the cat is in the manifold then it does require more work. If you get a mk1 oilfilter and thread that works fine.
  92. #92
Just ordered mine cant wait to get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  93. #93

The 8V one possibly would fit your 1.1 mate.
  100. #100
I have a feeling the port spacing is different.

They fit the 1.4 and the 1.6 8valve for certain as they share the same head.

so should i buy one? will it make much difference if the rest of my exhaust system is standard? not replaced airfilter yet. i sort of understud your link.... but the vtr lacks power in the upper revs will it not be better for me to get a 4 - 1 thats what i was asking? i am clueless i will admit!

correct! but its personal opinion! most people want quicker acceleration, if its more top end you want then go 4-1 mate! and if i were you i would get a full exhaust first, cause it ain't gonna make a shed load of difference without one!

how much are these now £120 + p &p? are these the same as the ones on ebay for £135 ecl p+p? whats everyones feedback on them when they were fitted.

  130. #130
Get paid on the 16th of Jan so will be ordering one of these Raceland 4-2-1 manifold then, I have a Mk2 VTR '00 X , thankfully my CAT is under the car and has one lambda probe

KamRacing, can you get a hold of the Raceland induction kits also? depanding on price I would consider purchasing one of these also.

    Thx.
    ManC
  131. #131
Heh your lucky with the cat being under the car.

I can get Raceland induction kits also. There currently aren't any special prices on them at the moment but off the top of my head they are only about £65. You can get one with a suitable Green filter for £100 all in.

If people want me to do a group buy on the induction kits I'm up for that. Will have a look at the prices if there is any interest.

If you could confirm the pricing for the Raceland induction with the appropriate size green filter that would be appreciated, and lets hope some more people are intrested so we get a keener price

Like Mark51 I am hoping people will post some opinions of there Raceland manifold's but with the christmas break i expect people have'nt got round to fitting them yet.

    ManC
  134. #134
i have hard that they are not the best you can get BUT for the money that are spot on, a GMC one can cost around £270
  135. #135
Me also, but combined with a green filter it should be better, cant bring myself to spend £270.

Been thinking about the evosport carbon box, similiar to the BMC one.
ebay link to evosport carbon box. £57.99 delivered
But I am not keen on using a oil breather as I hear they leak oil

    ManC
  136. #136
you have to use an oil breather with a BMC any mate, plenty of people have them and i have never heard of them leaking.

what car have you got? if its something your keeping for a while then its worth spending the cash on

The breather I had kept pissing out oil, had to keep wiping it up every week hence why I want one of the Raceland jobbies as you get a connector which you would normally attach a breather to.

i have a question for the people who bought this manifold!

have you encountered any problems whilst putting it on the car?? was it perfectly straight? did it fit ok??

i'm asking this because i want to buy one, and some people here in the netherlands have experienced problems like the things i've mentioned...

    what year is your car?

There isn't any reason why it wouldn't fi straight. The Mk2 models do have to change the oil filter and thread though

    i have a mk1, 1.4 8v from 1999

i don't know the word for it but the point on which it mounts to the head of the motor isnt always straight with a raceland. (some people who have bought it tell me this)

for that reason here in the netherlands the raceland products arent as popular
