Doesn't this mean it fails its MOT? or do you have to fit a cat under the car lyk the pre X reg's? Can you decat both Mk1 & Mk2? just a bit confused at the moment lol. Cheers

#2right 98bhp vtrs would fail mot if you put a manifold on it as it de cats it unless you get a manifold with a sports cat
the earlyier vtrs no it wouldnt providing you still have the cat there -
#3beat me to it this time hessle

on a mk2 can you run a decat manifold but then wack the cat under the car like on the mk1? or are all the other pipes different lenghts? -
#4you would need the middle section off a mk1 if you was to do thatQuote:beat me to it this time hessle

im not sure what effect having a lamba sensor in a sleave would pass emissions test though as it should be plugged in just after the cat -
#5ah crap i forgot about that! mine being a mk1 engine I dont have these issues, lol.
-
#62nd lambda doesnt affect emissions. it checks the cat is working.
-
#7mines a mk2 but its a W reg, meaning it is the 90bhp silvertop version, so which manifold would suit my car? the mk1 mani........... am i right?
-
#10and would i need to move anything to make it fit? or is it just bolt on and go!
-
#11you'll need to move your standard manifold off the car
-
#12PMSL you nob! hahaha yeah apart from that!?

#13What would be the best manifold for my Mk1 Silvertop 90bhp VTR?
Heard so many things from so many diff people!
My current mods are:
Pipercross Viper
S/S Decat
Remus centre pipe
S/S Magnex Backbox
Im pretty sure a 4-1 would be best as I find my vtr doesnt pick up all the time till about 3-4000 but Im not certain....4-2-1 may be better!
Let me know what you thinks best peeps!! Thanking you! -
