  6. #6
    for loudness go custom
  7. #7
you have to get a magnex mate they are brilliant.

    can be loud.

    price not sure mate
  8. #8

There's two knocking about at the moment ARD1's who is in the forsale section and The Euro one for sale on Ebay.

I'd keep it subtle if I was going down that route so you can hardly see it.

Ok, I was after one of these awhile back but wasnt sure what kinda exhaust note it would produce as it is the back box which gives the final change in exhaust note (big, small, lot of baffles, no baffles all different) but with a side exit the only place you can have the box is in the centre section then a pipe coming out then bent to exit from one side or split to exit both sides. With a 4branch manifold your be popin and fartin like a goodern :-) pop pop fart :-) nice

This is a pic of Citunings Turbo VTR which ran a moddifed Renault 5GTT side exit system.

In the end a wasnt happy I could make it look rite and wasnt keen in having a empty hole in my back bumper. But if you fancy it go for it, Big respect for thinkin outside the box and being different :-)

*Dont be tempted to go completely boxless as the car will sound terrorable, ever heard old bangers that are blowin at the manifold they sound like tanks ! Plus not sure what this will do for back pressure.

My best advise is go and talk to a custom exhaust shop and do your homework :-)

As i said in the other thread, Powerflow wouldnt do a side exit exhaust for me as they kept going on about Fuel Tank, etc
  12. #12
Just cause the pipe comes out at the side dont mean it has to go anywhere near the tank? Surely the could run it down one side of the car.

Did you get a second opinum?

As i said in the other thread, Powerflow wouldnt do a side exit exhaust for me as they kept going on about Fuel Tank, etc

they put 1 on my mates vtr.
  14. #14
goin for the side exit i reckon, be abit different. any ideas what i could do with hole where exhaust was?
  15. #15
Bare in mind that powerflow are franchised though and the service and quality of the items depend on the individual garage.
  16. #16
i nkow cituning do 1,think they do 1 out each aswell. only live round corner so ill pop in at weekend. seen a posi vtr with 1 on today sounded quite nice. pop pop pop

I checked with citunig and they said the item above was just a Ktec racing system off a 5GTT which was moddifed to fit their car. They also said they had one left in stock but that was a while ago.

Take alook here on their sister companies website Prima Racing as they did have a few side exit systems but they seem to have been sold.

Could always have the pipe work double back on itself and come out at the front end of the sideskirts like a Macalren SLR? no fuel tanks there :-)

William, if you put the link to that thread I'll have alook but seeing as you didnt I couldnt have known all the details behind what they said to you.
  18. #18
    ???? i am quoting what someone said in this thread. it williams aswe;;
  19. #19
Sorry :-( my bad, I though it was you that had quoted whoops :-)

Are side exit exhausts louder aswell?

Also anyone got any ideas or know how much it would cost to fill in the hole for the tailpipe in the rear bumper?
  21. #21
Well I imagin they are as loud as any other Single box exhaust system. It would also depend on how big and how well silenced the centre box was that the pipework will exit and go to the side of the car instead of the rear of the car.

Mk2 XR2s had a exhaust setup of a small box straight after the manifold then a box in the centre of the car then straight pipework to the rear of the car and they had a quite nice exhaust note even as standard.

As for the bumper, I lot of Renault 5GTT owners have there bumpers filled in so it can be done, but IMO you'd be as well just to get a Euro styled bumper with gaps then just fill them with mesh. :-)

Well worth doing as it could really make a saxo stand out from the crowd :-)

Any Custom garage should be able to do it. Powerflow is the most common
place, but there are loads available on the net.

    MIJ Exhausts
    Longlife Exhausts
Oh and I love this one (link) Zorstec

if you get a picky plod - the law says
exhaust must exit behind the rear wheel to be road legal
  24. #24
Like to see him say that to a Marclern SLR Driver :-)
