simple way is get paint off and polish like a lunatic
can be done by hand but a machinne is best

at the risk of sounding extremely stupid, polish with what? and how do u get the paint off? (sanding I would guess)

elbow grease mate!
sand it /sand/sand/sand lots of sanding buddy
or sand blast them
or get them sprayed crome i think ?
