106GTi Torsion Bars

    Morning Campers

I was talking to Soulless on Sat night and he was tellin me that 106GTi's have bigger torsion bars than the Saxos.

Are they a direct swop from GTi to VTS

    Thanx

The torsion bars should be the same bud - 19mm like the VTS!

Its the Anti Roll Bars that have a wider diameter than the VTS, the GTi ones
are 24mm or 25mm, cant remember which.
But these are definatly more than the VTS ARB.

think vts is 24 mm and hte gti is 25
  4. #4
So if would replacing my VTS anti roll bars with GTi ones be possible? are they a direct swop?
  5. #5
Yup, a GTI is a 24mm IIRC, the 25mm is the comp spec one

Rushy, Just had alook at your progress thread - Been havin a very bad day but your thread really cheered me up, theres some really funny stuff in there :-)

big respect for a very nicely done car - like Ive said before money doesnt buy style, your car is very stylish.

But back to the thread, So could you let me know what suspension parts you have changed as Im lookin to lower mine after xmas.
Only look for a 30mm drop as I do alot of travelin about and always end up in an area with mountain speed bumps or really steep multi stories.

    Thanx

Yes they have bigger anti roll bars, is it a direct swap from VTS ones to GTi ones.

    Thanx guys

Sorry mate for not getting back to you! Only just read your reply
Ive been dead busy with Uni work and the Car.
Been up and down lately but things are definatly looking up, some
big suprises coming this way next year

Glad you enjoyed the thread, a lot of effort put in but its all paid off.

My suspension isnt anything special but is definatly to be proud of.
    Heres the list:
Bilstein Sprintline Kit (inc Ventura front springs)
    24mm standard GTi ARB
standard torison bars (hopefully get a set of 21mm soonish)
    poly rear beam mounts
    poly wishbone bushes
    poly ARB mount bushes

The car was orginally down 40mm all round but its not 50mm on the back and 40mm
    on the front

IMO it was much better 40mm all round!

    Hope this helps!

    torsion bars are the same.
    gti, rallye ARB is 24mm
vts - some are 22 some are 19.5.
  11. #11
that is unles the people that have said their ARB is 19.5mm was getting mixed up with torsions..........
  12. #12
So its simply a case of

Suspension kit - Not desided which one

    Poly bushes

and then just a set of GTi/Rallye Anti Roll Bars

    Job done :-)

Thanx Rushy, been a big help mate Rep on the way cheers
