Tuning Powerboost Valve

   Hiya i have an MK1 VTR with a powerboost valve, K & N Induction Kit and Full De-Cat Powerflow system. I was wondering whats the best way to get more power. If i turn up the pressure on the valve will. it knacker ma engine or just use petrol like a jugernaught. lol

   As you well know dude is hard to get these guys attention on this forum but there are a few of us that want to keep up its reputaton.
   
   I have a VTS and I installed my FSE about year and half ago along with a WRC RamAir induction kit with K&N. What the FSE gives you is instant power and great puckup on changing gears. The engine just picks up easy where it ends in the previous gear. Every time I wanted to get away quickly I had my wheels spinning (Not good for my Potenzas).
   
   The best way is to go to a rolling road tuning place and get it set there according to your car. Or you can get a barometer and get it set yourself.
   
   I usualy set it on 4bar highest. What you do is turn on the engine with the conected bar-meter on the fuel line going to the rail. On idle you disconect the vacuum on the top of the FSE and set it on 3-4bar max (if you love your fuel pump). When you conect the vacuum line you will see a drop in pressure....thats ok.

   yeah get it on the rollers,it the only way you will set it up properly,like any engine mod realy,it all need to be set up so it runs in harmony wit the rest of mods/engine

   Scott....the fountain of knowledge, are these as effective as the web site claims? not that i'm looking for more power at the moment, but for future reference.

   thanks Scott, but probably on a non-modified standard car you wont get more power but a good response .

   exaclty as burtay said no real point pushing more fuel in when there is no more air to meet it

   ah right, but say if u had a good induction kit, u would see a difference?

    i doubt it, it may help get rid of any flat spots but power gains would be minimal

    Ive got a power boost valve kit on my mk1 vts, i had it tunned on the rolling road and ive noticed a big difference!
