Lack Of Power

My car feels a bit sluggish! and tonight discovered that the extra 8bhp in a newer mk2 does matter as Richie2104 pulled away! (was on private! and am not lying! )
But my car just doesnt seem to rev freely at all! any ideas?

You're air filter might be blocked, or your fuel system is cloged up. Im sure there are other posibilities but there the only ones I can think of right now.

should i try putting some engine adicitives through it?

For the air filter it'd be easiest to replace it either with a new standard one or with an aftermarket panel filter. Unless youve already done that or have an induction kit, in which case give the filter a wash. For the fuel system a bottle of those aditives that says it cleans it should help.

Not so youd notice unless it was for a prolonged period of time, anyway theres the cooling fan to deal with that.
