    I'd say yes but have no facts to prove this theory.

    maybe he means quicker to nick?

    i'd say the vts will be the quicker of the 2 seen as the 306 will be a good bit heavier and i own a vts so i'm biased

    I'm a fan of the Xsi .. (have no idea which is faster though) as the engine just has so many options for tuning. Currently installing an XSi 1.8 alloy block with an Mi16 head and Gti-6 cams that has a very healthy gain in power

    the 306 gti-6/rallye and s16 are the top ones i think, all 167bhhp and similar 0-60 as the vts i think but a higher top end im guessing due to the larger engine size

    No
    Phase 1 XSI is an 8 valve

    Phase 2 XSI is a 16 valve, 137bhp ish

    VTS is about as fast as the 167bhp GTI-6 in the real world, though the gti-6handles better

    I've got one and it is a 1.8? Or have I muddled as to what car it came from

    Depends, is it a UK car, if so yes. If its continental then all the models vary a lot

    friend has a 306 2l 16v XSi;
    VTS is quicker.

    I've had a 306 S16 which is quicker than the XSI and my VTS standard would leave it for dead. The GTi-6 keeps up with it alright.
