ARB`s

  1. #1
    yo chaps,
how thick are the anti roll bars in the variety of models?..
from 1.1 to 1.6 vts please lads + lasses.
  2. #2
I heard they come in sizes 18mm, 20mm, 21mm and 25mm but im not sure which models they correspond to, sorry.
  3. #3
i heared they were 19mm and 22mm not too sure about the 25mm you are on about though,, i could be wrong.
  4. #4
    106 gti had 24mm iirc
  5. #5
24mm ARB come standard on the 106 GTi.
Dont think any VTS's came with the 24mm option
A 25mm ARB would be purchased from Peugeot Sport I believe (same parts for
    the Citreon's)
There are other more thin Diameter ones but nothing to sing and dance about.

no car came with the 25mm arb.. has to be bought new for ass ooot action

altho i think the 106 partner van may have come with an uber thick ARB
  7. #7
    24mm to be precise ryanal!

But the original question doesnt ask wherther its front or rear arbs.
  8. #8
    Its obviously the rear!!
  9. #9
what way do they work then the thicker the less roll i take it?
  10. #10
Thicker they are the less roll found under cornering. They can increase grip
that the tyres and suspension provide.
Things like balancing out understeer and oversteer also benifit from better
    suited ARBs.

Do better bushes (stiffer) make much difference in decreasing body roll?
  12. #12
Soso, the front ARB bushes, wishbone bushes didnt seem to make much
difference. They obviously do a better job but couldnt tell anything new.

But the rear beam mount bushes did make the rear feel a bit neater and tighter
    under more heavy cornering.

I personally think that if the car has been dropped lower than standard ride
height then eventually the bushes will need replacing.
The lower you go the quicker I imagine they will wear away also. (not by a
    large amount)

I believe my rear bushes have gone and i get a laughable amount of body roll under heavy turning.

    Is it really?
People seem to forget that saxo have front antiroll bars, that you can get in diffferent thinkness' to help balance out the handelling.
  15. #15
But its the rear ones which are variable amongst the different models as
    standard.
  16. #16
Hmm so what do the vts's come with as standard?
And would upgrading the arb to for eg. a 25mm make a lot of noticeable difference?
  17. #17
VTS's come with 19.5 or 22mm bars. Its random, but most mk2s have gay thin 19.5 efforts. Choice of 25mm bars availible. Seem to be about 300notes now though. I have one. Combined with 22mm Torsion bars and dampers which have been valved specifically its given the back end a load of stability, grip and complience over every surface its been on. Downside is the rides a bit bouncy. And It'd cost about a grand to do using new parts

    Oh rite, nice one.
