IMO its not going to work really unless you have a heat sheild. Buy/make a heat sheild and it will be worth it. Does look really decent if you put the feed in a moulded fog light ect.

On the VTR it looks like you can get imbetween the rad to gain access to the area infront of the rad ie behind the lower grill but on the VTS I (other people may have But I) couldnt find a way to get the cold air feed in there so mine goes straight down and clips to bottom of the front lower panel just behind the bumper

If your going open you need a cold air feed otherwise all your do is suck on hot air (bad)
When we was talking at lakeside did you notice mine had a heat sheild?
Its for a 106gti fit wasnt great but that was because it was a crap kit not beacuse it was for the wrong car. Take alook on eBay check both 'saxo induction' and '106 induction'.
Enclosed filters from 106 wont fit as the slam panel is different but simple cones and other induction kits should be fine.

yeah, bottom of bumper its gonna have to be...Im not doing it in a wet winter month though cos Ill be sucking in hella water...

Best thing to do is take alook one sat morning when its bright and work out how and where the tube is going to run might also be worth taking a trip to a scrapy and tryin to find a scoop off another car ie some cars had a scoop that bolted to the slam panel which attched to the end of the air filter housing, otherwise it means cable ties and stuff might just make a better job that way.
I have an air filter, but i put it on for a laugh,

its only on there for the amazing noise. I dont rate it one bit lol.
will be purchasing an enclosed filter in the new year

do not mount it low, u will suck water up in the wet when going throiugh puddles and fuck ur engine

check out this cold air feed! intercooler style.....
One thin I will mention I remember reading something on movin induction kits, increasing or decreasing the length of the induction pipework (NOT cold air feed) can alter the torque curve of the engine but where talking the difference between a cone being right next to the throttle body compaired to being located say behind a fog light or something.
Dont think this accutally appiles to anyone but fort it was worth mentionin

I agree if we'r talking about fittin the cone low down then yes water and other dirt + road grime would be a problem but a cold air feed won't suck up much in the line of water and grime + thats whats whu you have a filter to filter the crap.
It would have to be a pretty big puddle for water to go up the cold air feed.
Good point tho, anything that low down will more open to dirt but not to the point of damagin engines. IMO

its a problem on 306s .. I've heard of a few that I'm told suffered 'hydro shock' after hitting a puddle and sucking up a load of water. Que knackard engine
It happened to someone on here too didnt it? Someone had a fog-light mounted cold air feed which took a healthy drink.

it was me but not fog mounted. i hit a massive puddle and killed the engine via "hydraulic seizeure" as the water had enter the cylinders and the water can't be compressed.

its a common problem for cars to suck water up i have delt with a few customers cars, it mainly happens on the enclosed filters with cold air feeds bolted directly on

went round me round bout hit the biggest puddle... to be honest more like a lake. being 60mm down didnt help and hit it like a stone doing 10mph as it was heavy rain. water hit like a tidal wave and engine cut out... its okay tho got a gti engine
