    yup

under bonnet on the clutch cable theres 13mm an 10mm nuts undo the 10mm nut as its a locking nut

tighten or slacken the 13mm nut to adjust the clutch

when your happy with adjustment tighten 10mm nut up

    Thanks for that mate

how do i know how much to adjust it though?

i mean if i pull the cable next to where the lever is (if you know what i mean) there is slack in that, also the clutch does seem to bite quite late?

    any ideas?

they clutch should start biting about 2 inches from the floor

you have to keep trying it until its right

    ok

sorry if this seems daft but shall i just take up the slack in the cable first? Then the more i tighten it the arm will move and that then will mean the clutch bites sooner?

not as you my over tigteten it

do it the way i said and you will be fine

well, i have adjusted the cable but it dosent seem to have really made any difference to when the clutch bites, all its seems to have really done is raise the height of the pedal.

can i compensate for this anyway?

when i did my clutch the other week i was thinking this... I know what you mean about the slack - you cant adjust where it bites i dont think - tightening that nut will only change the pedal height. If you tighten it past the point where thers no slack it wont engage properly and will slip

    right,

well mine is not slipping but the pedal is defo too high, will need to slacken it off again

by the way, was it much of a job doing the clutch?

whats cost is the clutch and how long did it take?

Erm well if it was the middle of summer it would have been alrite! It took me a weekend in the wind and rain! probs would have got it done in a day in the summer! The clutch itself is an easy 5min job to fit, its just geting to it thats the hard part just all the little things in awkward places that have to come off to get the gearbox out.
Cost me £70 for the clutch (EBC) the only other thing you need is gear oil and for peice of mind i would probs get some new bottom balljoint pinch bolts too (£1.50 each from citroen)

not sure if i would take it on myself, might look to a garage, how long do you reckon a garage would take then? couple of hours?
