standard brakes are fine for a standard car. if you want to upgrade then get either a 206 gti or 306 gti-6 conversion.

how much would a 206gti conversion cost? how much would the parts be? is it a diy job like replacing standard parts for standard?

or would a garage be the best bet?

206 gti goes straight on, 306 gti-6 needs a little grinding off the edge of the calipers to stop them fouling the strut but other than that they go straight on. guy on here sells both for 180-odd or something or you could get the parts brand new from eurocarparts etc (calipers, carriers, discs, pads)

ay sean....what difference is there in brembo and the 206/306 setup apart from the number of pots.
  7. #7
when you say the brembo setup i assume you mean the 406 coupe brakes? like you say the calipers are the difference, there's someone on here using them with 283mm discs (same as gti-6 discs).

but is there any diff in stoping power in the two or brembos are just for looks but same stoping power as the 206 setup?
  9. #9
they're 4 pots so they will have greater clamping pressure spread out over a greater and more even area.
