power loss/exhaust

    What sort of power do you reckon you'd be loosing (if any) if the exhaust was blowing from a crack in the cat? on a vts?

    Would depend on the crack it self really but if it is yours get it welded/replaced asap.

    it was blowing quite a fair bit and was quite loud from the outside.

    its getting fixed today(costing nout),or was until the wrong cat was brought apparently there are 3 different kinds?

    Cat's depend from the year ranges, mine has the Cat on the Manifold pipe (newer shape - newer car) the older ones have it like normally cars do under the car it self and then there is the early new shaped saxo's which I believe they have it in the same place as the older ones. Not sure on the 3rd unless the latter one I spoke of differs but I dont think it does.

    Seems you got a fair crack somewhere then but since it's getting fixed then it'll be alright

    mines 2001 and its under the car, but apparently they got one with new had the sensor in it or something like that.

    Mines a 2001 as well but has 2 sensors instead of 1 and the Cat on the Manifold .

    getting back to my orginal question, would they be much loss? i mean im not goin to loose 120 brake just would i be like 5- 10 maximum?
