me n my mates project 106

my mates got a 106 its a series 1 xsi 1.6, n we wana make the front look a little different so we fort we would convert the front end to that of a mk1 saxo. just the lights grill n bonnet is this possible though n how much work have we gota do? ne one done this before?

well i dont have a clue if you could or not, but i saw 2 saxos one with an alfa front end the other with an audi front end - plus 106s are very similar so as a guess id say yes lol

i thought the mk1 pug 106 was a bit smaller, so its gonna be a mission to make stuff fit, the mk2 pug 106 however is basically the same as a saxo, they share a lot of parts

Your basically talking about a lot of custom panels, and a lot of custom fixings, and probably a lot of money. If you getting a front end conversion what about something a little different mate? Its gonna cost a fair bit eitherway. I know a saxo front end, 106 rear isnt common but I mean something really different.

think it could be done but u will need to change certain parts.

for example due to the 106 being narrow u will need to either cut down the original saxo grill and change it, prob using filler and fiberglass lol. Or make you own customised grill.

but you should be able to use the saxo headlights as they are smaller than the 106 ones and should fit into the holes of the old lights. this may need brackets made up though just to hold them in place.

In terms of bumper though i am unsure wheather it will work or not.

The only way i can see that the bumper will fit is to cut it straight down the middle and trim enough apart until it is the right width, and then fix it back together using some sort of brace to hold to two parts together...

Mark 1 106's are quite a bit narrower than a Saxo so a lot of chopping would need to be done. But hey, if you want something original it could be worth the effort when finished. Give it a shot mate and be the first!!!
