  1. #1
ok so i got an induction kit for my 1.1 what can i remove from the engine bay from the original air intake? as it looks as if theres hoses that do things coming from the main pipe from the grill and the manifold cover i have a r reg saxo btw

    Any help appreciated

What kind of induction kit you got? open or enclosed?

if you've got an enclosed induction kit, then you can remove everything to do with the standard filter.

if you've got an open filter then i recomend either sellin it and buying a enclosed kit or remove everythin except the cold air feed.

open, where can i get a decent enclosed one from? are they more efficent? dont i need to keep the air pipe onto the manifold or the smaller hoses coming off it, as they look as if they maybe sensors for something?

remove all of it to begin with

then if its an open filter leabe the standard air intake pies so it feeds the filter with cold air

There shouldnt be any piping from filter to manifold, wasnt on mine anyway!

    think he means breather filters

you can buy this little induction pipe breathers there about £5-£10

heres a better pick as u can see there is a pipe leading to the main intake hose from the manifold cover?? can i remove that also what do i do if i remove it all and then i got a small gap in the carborettor housing and top of the rocker cover i'm guessing for the oil? do i leave that lead in or add breathers?

dont know about the heat shield pipe but yeah you can breather filters for the pipe coming from the rocker cover.
  10. #10
the 1 what goes to the rocker cover you will need a breather for

the 1 what goes to manifold is nothing to worry about

I've never seen one from the heatshield like that before. Surely it cant do anything?

so i need 2 breathers one for the carb housing and one on the rocker cover? everything else can go apart from the cold air feed?
  14. #14
    is this right?
  15. #15
the 1 on carb housing should be ok

just the 1 for the rocker cover
  16. #16
oh ok so i can just leave it or put a cap of it?
  17. #17
does the breather what goes to the carb housing go onto the card or part of the air filter
  18. #18
the hose from the carb that meets the rocker cover are just joined together nothing else joining i believe without lookin theres a big round thing as u can see in the pic.. is this a sensor its sorta in the middle of that hose
  19. #19
i cant tell if the hose what goes to the carb conects to the card or the plastic of the filter

the one what goes to rocker cover take the breather hose off were it concts to the filter and put a breather filer on that

but im not 100% as i cant really see it for definate

so just take everything out and and leave the hose from the rocker cover to the carb housin
  27. #27
    take everything out

and put the breather filter onto the rubber pipe coming off rocker cover
