VTR - what gearbox for best acceleration?

   My mate has a VTR and his gearbox has fucked up. I told him to wait before he buys a VTR box as I heard the VTS box has shorter ratios so will give better acceleration? Is this true? Will it fit straight on without any other mods to the flywheel/clutch etc?

   yeah it will fit straight on, the best saxo boxes are either the 1.1's or vts (vts would be better for motorway driving)
   
   1.1 box limits to around 110mph i think.
   
   the best box for acceleration is the rally s1?

   no your right, as fare i iam aware, iam sourcing a S1 box for mine at the moment

   Best to look on the rallye register for s1 bits and bobs.
   
   I think theres one on eBay at the minute though.

   yea s1 rallye box but good luck finding one! you couls also use a s1 xsi gearbox as the ratios between this and the rallye arent much different! 1.1 box will return you shit mpg if your doing allot of miles.
