running temperatures

   Iv got a 1999 mk2 vtr which is the silver top 90bhp model.The temperature seems to stay in above the half way mark and near the red when running. The fan seems to kick in alot especially after its been giving a spanking. is this normal or is my engine about to cook?!!

   I got, 2001 V reg, and was worried bout this with mine too, but in two years, it has run at 3/4 temp solidly and quite quickly reaches the temp after starting the engine.

   if it has always done it and is not over heating then its fine
