panel filter opinions please

Can I please have your opinion on panel filters? I've decided to get one but want to know which make is best, and also the cheapest place to buy them. Been thinking about the Green panel filter but how do you rate other makes like K&N etc?

i think theres only green or k&n what does them

    demontweeks
    larkspeed

    maybe even ebay

Yeah I've only seen the k&n ones, I know itg do them for the clio so they may do them for the saxo. Demon tweeks as paul said do alot of filters.

If you going with the standard air box setup thats ok, try here . . .

    http://www.performancecentre.co.uk/p/sv_pt.asp?CC=11

I had a K&N panel filter in a Mk3 XR2i and a BMW E34 525i, in both cases I fitted full exhausts at the same time so it was hard to see the single gain from the filter in the Fiesta's instance I had changed the Manifold full exhaust and just had the head skimmed with all new vavles and new standard EFi cam.

On a completely standard car don't expect to see any gain, you may see a gain on a dyno but its bound to be small.

But for the price thats ok expect to pay between £30-£40ish depending where you get it from. If your looking to keep the engine by looking completely standard this is the way

I got my Green filter for £35 from Motorworld.

remember you'll need oil for it as well

have a look on www.potn.co.uk they do them i believe

Plenty on the market shop around see what comes in in you budget.

Remember like mentioned above Foam filters (Pipercross and so on) have to be oiled to give best filtration whereas Cotton (K&N, Green and so) don't.

All will give roughly the same performance gain (if any)

Thanks guys. Not expecting much in terms of gains, just wanted something a bit better than the standard filter as I'm hopefully getting a manifold and decat to go with my cat back system. Would love a bmc but want to spend my money on the exhaust system first.

I have ordered a Green one from POTN but waiting on it been delivered.

I think it was £42 delivered, which ain't bad to be honest. I'd say get one of these over an induction, improves performance and fuel slightly.
