How much for fitting VT kit

  1. #1
I have a 1.1, I bought a full vt kit. I fitted the kit myself apart from the sideskirts, it was fine but I thought a few parts could do with being a little more flush with the car. So today I took the whole kit off, snapping a few clips in the process, and tried to put it back on but it wouldn't go back on as good as it did the first time. So basicly I made the problem worse.

Anyway back to the question: How much do you think a garage/coachworks take to fit the kit?? Been quoted £350 -£400 to spray the kit, i'm just trying to work out how much it's gonna cost me all together.

    Thanks

You can get some new clips from Citroen as they tend to break like no tomorrow. As for the price hmm that sounds a little to much I would of though more around the 200-250 mark to color code the VT* kit.

that price was for spraying the KIT not just colour coding.

And you can buy new clips from citroen. Bonding the arches may be an idea though?

Color coding is done by spraying as far as I know and since it's only the kit and not the whole car... Anyhow I still think 250 should be abouts what it should cost if you shop around. 300gbp seems cheap to so keep looking abouts 400 is to much IMO.

Best thing to do is ask your local bodyshops and shop about to get the best price.

The best thing to use to get some parts of the kit fitting flush (eg the arches) is to use small bolts instead of the dodgy clips on the arches themselves. Then bond the rest with tiger seal or silkaflex.

To fit a kit i wouldnt expect to pay more than £200 as an absolute maximum.

To spray a kit it depends on where you go, you'll get a top notch job for £500 give or take £100

To colour code a kit its around £200 mark for a good job.

These seem to be the general figures from around here anyway for getting it done.

TBH I would just get rid of the 1.1 and buy a VTS, it's more hassle than what it's worth getting the kit, fitted and sprayed then doing a convertion, uprating brakes etc.
But the kit cost me about £200 altogether.

    Thanks for the info guys.

Cars booked in, fitted and sprayed for £400, thats the bonnet sprayed aswell.
