Poly Bushes before Lowering?

  1. #1
Im starting to collect my bits for lowering my 99 Phase2 S.

Ive decided Im gona change the Anti Roll Bar (not Torsion Bars) but that comes later.

    Really all I want/need/would like to know is . . .

Can I fit New Poly Bushes and possibly a OMP Lower strut brace BEFORE I have the car lower to spread the cost of the job (this way I can maybe afford a better suspension kit)

This will also give me the chance to get the torsion bars looked at as I was told its best to have them checked before lowerin just in case they are ceased or stuck in the standard ride height posison - there by making it a difficult job to lower the rear (How true, not sure thats why I mentioned it)

    Thanks guys

You could, but I'd rather get everything together first and have it fitted all at the same time to not waste time and money.

same as a bove really id get them done at same time will work out cheaper labour wise

it is a good idea to check the torsion bar first though but thats upto you

Cheers guys I think I see where your coming from. I'll still get the Torsion bars checked before ordering my parts.

I think I read in Rushy's 'progress thread' about the rear bushes being expensive (Labour wise) to replace, could have got it wrong though :-)

Gona start next week ordering my parts, gona get bushes and lower strut brace first that way I can look around and finally deside which Suspesion kit I want.

    Nice one :-)

im guessing you aint gona do this yourself?

personally its easier to do everything together.

which polybushes do you want to fit to where?
ie front wishbones, front arb, or rear beam?

bushes can be a pain yeah, mine were bitches o get off. just see what they would charge, its like having your torsion bar changed you dont pay more cause it took longer.
wouldnt worry about the torsion bars
