Removing tints

  1. #1
Hi, What is the best way to remove the tints from my car? I asked the company who did them for me and the quoted me £150 to take them off....So i thought id try it myself first before payin that sort of money!
Any tips or guides would be great.....

    Thanks,

Think you have to heat it up very very slowly and peel it off. Pm Spanair he has just had it done

the quickest way is to just poull all of the tint off then get a bottle of nail polish remopver on a cloth and will take u 2 mins, or find a place that sels ecosol41 and use that, but if u want give me 150 and il do it for u lol

if you peel them off slowly, sometimes quite a lot of the glue will come off with it so you will have less to clean up.

    never pay £150 for it

way i did it was with paint thinners, rip the tint off and brush the thinners on and agitate it in so the glue starts going into a snot type lol then rub off with a rag, just make sure you cover things up to catch drips

I payed 40 pounds for mine to be removed (5 windows in total) they used a steamer and some pulling basically, took them about 20 mins and they cleaned the remaining bits of glue and left the windows spotless inside and out. Pretty easy once I saw it really just patience.

if you have a heat gun pop that on it on a highish setting and the tint will peel off itself,i pulled it off slowly then used soapy water with a non stick scourer

Ok thanks everyone.....Just finished taking them off, found it really easy to be honest. I found the best way to take the tint of without leaving lots of glue behind is to heat it up with a hairdryer/heatgun and then peel it off really slowly. And the best way to get the glue off was the mothers nail polish remover....worked a treat!
Cant beleive i was charged £150 to take the tints off....Wot a rip off.
