    coilovers or suspension kit

i wanna know good and bad opinions for both and which i should go for looking to spend about..£300

£300 ive not seen coilovers for that price.

you need to see what characterisitcs you want from the car, are you just wanting to pose with a slammed car, or are you wanting a harder suspension set up.

see alexs guide (sticky at the top of the page) for good information.

i personally wouldnt ever touch PI with a barge pole, cheap and cheerful, if you just want style though...

Coilovers if you can afford them, but you won't get a half decent set for £00 mate! unless there from egay!

cheap coilovers are a nasty thing indeed. Won't do anything for the road holding and you are soley paying for adjustable ride height and not quality components.

    Agree 100% with this.
Coilovers are hyped up to be the best suspension setup for most cars...
    Not always true.

If you want decent suspension then you have to spend decent money on a
    tried and tested brand.
Ive used GMAX and wasnt impressed (basic shocks and springs)
I now have a Bilstien Sprintline kit (again shocks and springs)

Cost me around £450 i think but its one of my best mods to date. Good
quality shocks that are usable on todays road but are great at speed/cornering.

Im not too sure on the springs they provide (maybe not stiff enough)
But I would advise you to stay away from coilovers on a saxo. There are
far better basic suspension kits out there.

problems with most cheap coilovers isnt just the actual damping and spring stiffness. its the build quality, they generally wont last long, and as is the cae with most, the actual body will not be made of the right materials to not rust, and lock etc....

    stay well clear.

I've not always been that impressed with Spax in the past.. not sure about their more recent stuff
