i have an alpine mrp450 monoblock which is currently running a single sub. what would happen if i connected my 6x9's to it? or alternativly what would happen if i wired them to my head unit which is a 50 x 4 currently running 4 speakers? i have been told that it would blow something!

what you wiring to your headunit mate a hope you dont mean your amp ???
monoblock means its designed for just a sub and thats it, if you want to run the speaker to get more power out of them run another amp, a 4 channel one, id reccomend you get rid of x9s and just get some components up front that are amped that way you could run just one amp powering components and a sub
