These resistor things for more bhp??

   ok, so on ebay people are selling these resistor things to tell the engine that the air is cold- then gives the car more fuel...
   
   Although i would loveto know your opinions on these i would like to check the vts i just got hold of to make sure it HASNT got one as it smokes a fair bit and overfuelling could be a cause.
   
   So where would it be? (The more detailed the better!)

   Yea theyre obivously a bad idea mate, i belive they are connected to the wire which comes out of the left hand lide of the block, just below the rocker cover seal The connector is green i think, i think the resistor is connected on that wire

   a 3P resistor being sold for £10, which will cause £££££ of pounds worth of damge in the long run...
   
   i hope some tool didnt fit it

   didnt find it when i had a quick look as i got distracted by the water which pumped out of the radiator when the fan came on!!
   
   So radiator out and new one ordered!
