I should be getting a gti engine off a mate this week but its done over 90000 miles would u suggest a rebuild before i have it put in? if so how much does it cost? cheers

#2depends on how badly its been abused. if you know the previous owner etc..
would be adviseable to deffo change the cambelt as this is ALOT easyer to do off the car than on, and will save you in the long run.
may be worth taking the head off to check for any signs of wear prior to fitting.
youd be looking at a few hundred depending on how far you go with the rebuild.
new bottom end shells, new valves etc....... -
#3Id personally not only change the normal - Oil, Oil filter, Fuel filter, Cam belt, Aux belt, but also completely flush out the block (coolant system) even stretch out for possablly checking all the vavles for excess wear.
Also get in straight to a rolling road to make sure its all doing what its sopsed to be doing as soon as its fitted.
90k quite a bit so give it a real good look over. -

so saves it being fitted before checking it
