Vts conversion

    Well i had a 2003 saxo vts 3 plug engine running with a 1997 106 gti unlocked single plug ecu & loom & 97 gti sensors.My car is a 1.4 mk1 1995 m reg 106 xs spi.When i had the engine in after a couple of minutes running it would not idle as it should & also when driving at approx 2-3k revs it would just chuck you back & forwards in your seat with very little power outcome?It was running with the standard 1.4spi fuel pump under the rear seat & also a second pump or is it a fuel gauge sender unit.I am just wondering as i have now changed it for a vtr engine but i would rather have the 16v in as there is a lot more potential to get from the 16v.Any help would be much appreciated

    have you not tried a vts or vts fuel pump?

    check the fuel line, injectors, also get it diagnosed

    williamsvts. I did not try changing the pump as i did not have 1 at the time & i did not think it would be that as it only happened after a couple of minutes running.

    you checked cam timing? have you changed the belt? i ahve done some belts before and have had to adjust teh timing after a few mins of it running.
