106 gti engine with saxo looms?

  1. #1
i have a gti engine but question is? does anyone know can i use the engine loom from a saxo vts to plug it to the 106 engine?

if not then does a 106gti engine loom plug to a vts car loom and work? (i got the single plug engine loom and i can get a single plug car loom) but was wondering if it was plug n play.

cheers fellas rep will be given for usful answers

yes it's possible to use the saxo vts loom on a 106 gti engine, but i'd try and get the saxo sensors to be on the safe side as i'm not 100% sure that they're the same.other alternative you have is to cut and shut the 106 loom into the saxo multi-plug which if you have both wiring diagrams isn't all that difficult, just time consuming.

well this is the game situation. theres a vts that is being broken.

i'd assume it'd be better to get the car loom, engine loom from the vts and stick it in my saxo with the gti engine. if not then i'll just use the saxo loom and the 106 engine loom and fire it up that way. just curious thats all. cheers sean.

whole load of hassle though rewiring the car side of things, if you're not confident with the cutting and shutting of the loom then an auto sparky will be able to do it no problem, in fact cutting the gti loom onto the saxo multi plug is probably the easiest of your options

okies, quick fire question. can i use the car loom from my furio, cut n shut it on the 106 engine loom and use vts clocks? and the milage of the gti engine will come up and all the sensors etc will work???

you wont have to touch the car side of the loom- what to do is this:- you see just to the left of the passenger side headlamp as you look into the engine bay, you'll see the plug for the engine loom ( your furio engine loom plug). leave it plugged in, unplug all the furio sensors, and cut the wiring from the plug, leaving a good length to work with. now you'll be left with the furio multi plug (still plugged in remember) and the cut wires coming from it. cut the plug off the gti engine loom and mate these wires to the furio loom wires. There are 2 ways of matching the wires- the furio loom may have little numbers printed on the wires, not sure about the gti loom, but if the gti loom does then just match the numbers and join the wires together. If not, use a haynes manual wiring diagrams to trace each wire on the gti loom, and use autodata to find out what each pin on the furio multi plug does, and match each wire. sounds a pain in the arse but it's simple, just time consuming.

saxo vts loom works. turns car over and works perfect. i use a vts loom on my gti conversion. gti loom wont work unless you cut the wires to match then with your wires that go back into your car.

VTS loom will mean u wont need to change ur dails or anything like that. it's plug and play as long as your ECU is unlocked and you have the correct TDB Crank sensor.

ill clear it up abit more.

What year is your saxo? Get a loom from the same year VTS as your saxo year. Plug this in. Furio will be 1 plub by battry. vts will be 2. lucky the secend plug does fk all

after youve pluged vts loom in to all your "current gti sensors" The Car will turn over and prime fuel! but wont spark. This is easy resolved. you can either unlock the ecu your self if you have the keys from the donar car. or send your ecu away. I had mine reporgramed so mine is still imobilsed. This is very expensive btw. After you have your ecu done. you will need a crank sensor from a VTS This is the only sensor that needs changing.

Your clocks will be fine and you wont need to change them to vts dails.

If you don't have a fuel return on your furio you can just block the pipe up. but it is probs best in the long run to put a return in. you Fuel Pressure will be fine also!

    Hope this helps m8! gl
