Another question about 17"s!!!

I know loads have already asked but just wanted to make sure......Will

205/40/17 wheels fit on my VTR with some arch work?!! Also lookin at lowering

it 40mm, is this possible?! Cheers for your help!

Anything is possible but i know a few people on here have said they are on 17's lowered 40mm an im guessing they have 205/40/17.

i had 17s with 205/40/zr17 tyres. yes it fitted. yes i was lowered 40mm.

it rubbed at the back and cut into my tyre if i had more than me and 1 passenger in the car.

and also. they managed to start chewing there way thro the heater pipe even on spacers.

but i had no arch work.

i took them off now. but wish i hadnt.

i had 45 profile tyres on my 17's, lowered 50mm all round but the rear was more like -70mm when i had my sound system in the back. the rear never rubbed and the front only caught slightly when i went over large bumps. but mine has had the arch work done, so it is possible.

I'm looking at doing it myself.....seems to be just a hammer and a bit of elbow greese that is needed!

your probly looking at £200 for a good job.

if doing it yourself you will need an angle grinder and to trimm your bumpers & arch liners. there is a guide on sax-p so have a look at that
