Painting Alloys

    Hey im looking to paint these Rims Black:



    So are there any guys from cambridge in here that like does these sort of things? let me know how much n where u @

    im not even sure if these alloys can be painted, so any comments welcome

    DIY, Get em sand blasted or shot blasted whatever its called, clean them , primer them then paint them

    lol i heared that alot, but i dont know jack shyt bout painting, ie, i hav no idea wot thse are:

    sand blast?
    Shot blast?
    primer them?

    Could paint them yourself, sand the wheels down after giving them a good clean, then apply 2-3 layers of primer, then 2-3 layers of paint, then as many coates of laquer as you can.

    Off topic I know but have you got vts badges on that?

    i had them done like that on my corsa, cost me £50 for primer and spray from halfrauds didnt look too bad until i touched the kerb than it all started flaking off

    should have used more laquer, and are you sure you "touched the kerb" or mounted it?lol

    Nop it dnt got VTS badges on it, im not tryin to make it look like a VTS, im more into Jap style body kits

    sand blasting is sand fired at the alloy at high pressure making the paint rust whatever is there blasted off

    shot blasting is bits of metal fired in the same way as sand blasting

    primer is applied to fill in any imperfections in the surface and makes it easier to see bumps and blemishes etc

    TBH just take them to a wheel refurb place should only cost about 40 pound a corner
