   Has anyone had a turbo fitted to there vt? My mate has just rang them up and they quoted him a whooping 3.5k I personally thought that was a bit steep. Is there any where cheaper than that, as there is a place about 6hours away quoted for bottom half of engine and turbo 1.8k but its really far away is there anywhere more local to the south?

   You thought that was a bit steep on the basis of your massive experience of tuning turbo cars then
   
   I personally wouldn't bother getting it done on the cheap. 3.5k is very cheap. GMC and Jamsport would quote much more than that

   3.5k will also not buy very much really if big power is what your after, also wont cover cost of brakes, suspension and i very much doubt engine mounts

   £3.5k is a good price for drive in drive out
   or you could buy my engine for £10k

   3.5k will get you a basic conversion that will need add ons all the time so you may as well not cut corners and eat the whole sandwich its big to swollow though at around 5-6k easy!
