Bump start and engine management light

   I had to get a bump start this morning - due to a foooked battery -
   
   Anyway, as soon as the Saxo started up, the engine management light came on - I'm pretty sure its that anyway.
   
   Why?
   
   And someone told me you shouldn't bump cars that have cats.
   
   Again, why?

   never heard about cats and bump starting.
   
   engine management light prob came on as you bump started it but didnt have the key set to the right setting. so the ecu read this as a fault and turned to light on. if that makes sense to you>?

   engine manigment could be cz of the battrys fk,
   bump start is fine...

   Oh, and how do I get rid of the engine management light? It's the same colour as the low fuel warning light, and I am easily confused..!!!

   I'm not sure why the engine management light would have come on... :-s
   
   Your best bet would be to take the car to Citroen for them to plug it in to their diagnostics machine to see what the fault is/might be. They'd charge you for this but I'm sure they wouldn't say no to a tenner.
