Magnex system on a 1.1

  1. #1
Ok is there anything stopping me from putting a Magnex 1.4/VTR system onto my 1.1?

are there different diameters to look out for? location of cat? different hangers? etc etc.

Just need some general info as all systems made of rthe 1.1 are crap

bump up to the top !

A magnex on a 1.1 wouldn't be very loud at all, i had one on my 1.4 and you could bearly hear it, that was until i took out the centre silencer.

If you get a supersprint or a remus centre with a magnex it mighty sound ok.

Was that for a whole system? was it stainless?

It wont be loud i shouldnt think mate Magnex are quiet as they come really, fitment wise it should be ok i know the backboxes have the same fitment as ive got a 1.1 standard bb on the furio, the manifold should be the same but ring up magnex/the supplier.

was just backbox (100mm (4'') Round; c/w Inward Roll; Made from High Grade Aluminised mild Steel Black Finish with T304 polished Stainless Steel Tail Pipes)

Im happy with it either way, people hear it before they see it

ok then I'll have a ring around then but custom made will probably be my best option tbh.

Are you lookin for any performance gains atall mate? If not then its probably powerflow, find a decent outlet though

well obviously not much power gains can be seen with a 1.1 but I'd like it to give it something performance wise and sound throughout the whole rev range. My current backbox is very loud in certain areas.

I've heard mixed things bout powerflow and performance gains

Powerflow arent for performance imo, they are just for looks and noise theres no workings for performance. Most people i know with powerflows reckon there isnt much performance change its just noise. You need a decent brand name set up with a 4-2-1/4-1 manifold imo to get a decent gain in performance.

Polishing the throttle body might be worth a shot aswell

hmm ok then mate I'll have a look around. Going to phone a few companies on monday about the manifolds on 1.1s and I'll look into ready made systems as well.

    ok so,

Sportex full system. I currently have their backbox but it was damaged in my crash last year and it has never been the same since. It was really nice before I got it and they claim good power gains from it?

Q.Do they do ot for the 1.3 versions??
A.yeah they list them for all models of saxos.
    lol

But id go for the Sportex, you know what the quality is like first hand which helps. Finding a manifold could be a bastard though.

hmm the Peco one is looking quite good to be honest. I'd rather have a stainless steel system rather than mild steel that the sportex is with Stainless tail pipe.

Peco has the option of Cat-Back or Cat in downpipe versions as well.

Ah right yeah, i didnt fully read the ads. The mild will still last the length of your ownership i would think but i know hat you mean, id get a stainless. If you want half decent power gains though its gonna have to be a de-cat though surely?
